* With your emotional and physical safety in mind, we invite you to participate in the activities you
choose.
* Your time spent with the horses is primarily on the ground.
* You are observing from outside the horse’s environment in some activities,
while in others,
you may join the horse in the arena or round pen.
Friday: 2:00 pm - 9:00 pm includes dinner
Get settled in and meet the group. We'll take a gentle walk around the ranch and then introduce the essence of the horse through interactive experiences with each other. A lovely dinner precedes activities and discussion centered around the weekend's theme. Return to the motel.
Saturday: 9:00 am - 6:00 pm includes lunch
Arriving at the Ranch the day begins with centering activities. Then as a group we will watch what happens when a herd of mares are "turned out". Discover their interaction with each other and how they communicate their own boundaries. After lunch you will individually explore a personal relationship with a horse and have the opportunity to share that experience with each other. Complete the day with suggestions for integrating the experience as you leave the ranch for your evening, open for informal gathering or personal reflection and rest at the motel.
Sunday: 9:00 am - 4:00 pm includes lunch
Returning to the ranch, begin the morning with a centering exercise. Observe a
group of geldings interacting. Then experience a variety of people/horse interactions
specific to the theme of the retreat. Practice non-verbal communication within and between species. A ceremony of reflection and delight will wrap up the weekend experience.
